This plate measures 25.5 cms across and is a good general purpose dinner plate. The plate is hand thrown in red earthenware clay with black slip brushed on. The rim is decorated with impressed shell and stamp decoration and brush strokes of ochre colours. The plain plate lets food take centre stage and the rim makes a frame for it. Even the simplest of dishes can look elegant on this plate.
